At almost 40 years old and still a protagonist on the pitch, Cristiano Ronaldo is already thinking about the next step he will take in his career once he decides to hang up his boots. And contrary to what many would think, the Portuguese star does not plan to become a coach.
During a conference at the Globe Soccer Awards, in which the Al Nassr footballer was present along with Thibaut Courtois, Cristiano Ronaldo assured that within his plans is to become a big club, giving a wink to Manchester United, a team that in CR7's perspective, there are still several important things to change.
Cristiano acknowledged that the problem at Manchester United is not only the coach, assuring that if he were the owner, he would change important things in the structure of the institution.
"The Premier League is the most difficult league in the world, all the teams fight, they are all good, they run and football is different now, there are no easy games. And I have said this before and I will continue to say it, the problem is not the coaches at Manchester United, it is much more than that. If I were the owner of the club (Manchester United) I would make things clear and change what I think is wrong there,” explained Cristiano Ronaldo.
It was from this that the presenter of the Globe Soccer Awards asked the Portuguese if he has spoken with the Glazers about this possibility, to which CR7 assured that sooner or later he will be the owner of a club.
“I am still too young, I have many plans and dreams ahead of me, but mark my words, I will be the owner of a big club, be sure of it,” added the Portuguese.
Cristiano Ronaldo following in the footsteps of David Beckham
If he becomes the owner of a club in the future, Cristiano Ronaldo would be following in the footsteps of another Manchester United legend such as David Beckham.
The titles that Cristiano will seek in 2025
Beckham, after his time in the MLS, secured ownership of a team, with Inter Miami being that club, which is now in the eyes of the whole world due to the structure that the Englishman, together with the Mas brothers, has created with the presence of figures such as Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.
