Despite not achieving the desired results, José Mourinho's spell at Manchester United remains a talking point.

José Mourinho's time at Manchester United was a mixed bag, to say the least. While he delivered silverware, his demanding style and sometimes controversial tactics often drew criticism. However, former Manchester United player Axel Tuanzebe recently shed light on Mourinho's training methods, offering a unique perspective on the Portuguese manager's approach.

"Tests and Challenges"

Tuanzebe, who came through the Manchester United academy, had the opportunity to work under Mourinho during his time at the club. In a recent interview, Tuanzebe described Mourinho's training as "brutal" but also acknowledged its effectiveness in developing players.

"The older I've got, the more I've understood him," Tuanzebe said. "So, when I was younger and he was the manager, there were certain tests and challenges he'd put you through. And being young, you're not really aware of what he's trying to get out of you. But the older I am now, I'm more aware and I understand the kind of angles he was using, the way he likes to teach, the methods.

"He Wanted the Best Out of You"

Tuanzebe emphasized Mourinho's relentless pursuit of excellence, recalling the manager's demanding nature and his willingness to push players to their limits.

"He was still very demanding," Tuanzebe said. "He was still brutal if you didn't have a good game. Ultimately, he wanted the best out of you and his methods, maybe not everyone agrees with them, but if you're strong enough to get through it, you'll end up having a very successful career."

"Not Everyone Agrees"

Tuanzebe acknowledged that Mourinho's methods might not be universally accepted, but he stressed their effectiveness for players who are mentally strong and willing to learn.

"His methods, maybe not everyone agrees with them," Tuanzebe said. "But if you're strong enough to get through it, you'll end up having a very successful career."

A "Brutal" But Successful Approach

Tuanzebe's insights into Mourinho's training methods offer a glimpse into the demanding environment the Portuguese manager creates. While his approach might be considered "brutal" by some, it's clear that it can also be highly effective in developing players and fostering success.
