Manchester United have been in favour of being able to count on promising young players who can play a very important role within the squad, for his part Erik Ten Hag has been known for giving opportunities to the academy players to show their potential and eventually they can be called up to the first team.

During the pre-season the coach gave the U21 players a chance for the first few warm-up games, surprisingly they managed three wins in a row which allowed two promising youngsters to have the opportunity to continue their development with the main squad, as Ten Hag was very pleased with their performance.

Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo were the two players who not only received praise from the coach, but also from their teammates, who know that nowadays it is very difficult for promising young players to shine due to the lack of opportunities, however, unfortunately both were injured during the tour of the United States, so they have not been available and their recovery time is still unknown.

For that reason, Ten Hag has made a couple of moves to bring in Jack and Tyler Fletcher, sons of Darren Fletcher who serves as a member of the coaching staff, both players were in the youth academy at Manchester City, the transfer the club made is around 1.25 million pounds, so continue their development at Old Trafford
