“A graduate of our youth Academy, Sir Bobby played 758 games and scored 249 goals during 17 years as a Manchester United player, winning the European Cup, three league titles and the FA Cup. For England, he won 106 caps and scored 49 goals, and won the 1966 World Cup.” part of the statement from the red devils.
“Following his retirement, he went on to serve the club with distinction as a director for 39 years. His unparalleled record of achievement, character and service will be forever etched in the history of Manchester United and English football; and his legacy will live on through the life-changing work of the Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation.” ended the statement.
Manchester United fans all around the world are sad with the news that one of the biggest legends in the history of the club has now passed away and it is expected for the players to have some type of message in the game against Sheffield, to remember one of the best players that has ever presented the team and the England National team in history.
“The club’s heartfelt sympathies are with his wife Lady Norma, his daughters and grandchildren, and all who loved him.” was the last part of the message from the team, that sends their condolences to the family of the player that have asked for some privacy in this tough times and could be ready to send a message to the fans in the days to come.
Sir Bobby Charlton legacy with Manchester United goes to the point that one of the stands of the Old Trafford stadium has his name, a prove that he was one of the best players that the team has ever had in their history and the impact he had in history.
