A lot of uncertainty, this is what Dortmund comments after Sancho's loan

Jadon Sancho has hit the right notes with Borussia Dortmund fans in his first two games since his loan switch from Manchester United. The winger has an assist in each outing so far and is showing glimpses of the talent that first attracted the eye of United in 2021. Sancho has not lived up to his £73million price tag at Old Trafford with just 12 goals and six assists in 82 matches. Prior to his switch back to Germany, the 23-year-old had not played since August amid his fall-out with Erik ten Hag.

The England international was exiled for refusing to apologise after accusing the boss of lying about why the forward was dropped from the squad against Arsenal in September. Several United teammates had urged him to say sorry but the player stood firm in his stance and so a return to Dortmund opened up. The player looked delighted to be back at BVB and has impressed onlookers at this early stage. MEN Sport has spoken to Steve Palmer of fan group Die Nummer 19 and Matthew Smith of BVB Sheffield to get their thoughts on Sancho’s return.

The pair have offered their verdicts on Sancho’s time at United and whether they would like their club to sign him again long-term. My initial thoughts were of scepticism. Sancho hasn't played much and I thought it would be a challenge for him to get up to speed. When it was clear there was no option to buy I was even more dismayed. It seems like we are just helping Manchester United get a player they don't really want to sell. However, his performance over these first two games have allayed my concerns. I am happy to have him back.

We’re pleased to have him back. He was excellent for Borussen when he was here and very much formed part of a collective. Ultimately, Borrusen culturally feels much more of a family that culture comes from fan ownership coupled with amazing fan engagement and I think if Sancho comes back with the right attitude and perhaps something to prove then it should be a great deal for us but also England in an important year. He’ll get the support and the environment to succeed here.

He wasn't the easiest player during his original spell at the club in terms of attitude and punctuality. I think in the right environment, where he feels supported and wanted, he will train well and be an asset. Dortmund currently have a similar situation with a lad called Paris Brunner. A great talent but struggling at 18 to adjust to expectations of a professional.
