Manchester United manager Rubén Amorim has hailed his side's character after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Rangers in the Europa League. Despite conceding a late goal to level the score, United managed to secure all three points thanks to a late winner from Bruno Fernandes.
Speaking after the match, Amorim expressed his satisfaction with his team's performance. "We played well. We lost control of the game for seven minutes because of bad decisions, but the second goal was so close at that moment. We missed so many chances. Then we recovered. It's a good victory," said the Portuguese coach.
Amorim was particularly pleased with his team's ability to bounce back from conceding a late equalizer. "I'm very proud of the players," he said. "They showed great character to come back and win the game."
The manager also highlighted the importance of the victory in terms of the team's progress this season. "This is a big win for us," said Amorim. "It gives us a lot of confidence going into the next game."
With this victory, Manchester United have taken a significant step towards qualifying for the knockout stages of the Europa League. However, there is still plenty of work to be done. The team will need to maintain their momentum and build on this positive result.
