Loan rumors have been flying around the mill this January for Manchester United as the club are trying to trim their squad. Some youngsters have already left the club on loan like Hannibal Mejbri and Alvaro Fernandez this window. The next loan deal likely to be completed is Facundo Pellistri to Granada which means the stay of another young winger at Manchester United.

With Pellistri set to leave for the rest of the season, and Jadon Sancho already moving to Dortmund, the club will not allow another winger to leave the club due to a lack of depth on the flanks. That means that young forward Amad Diallo is set to stay at the football club this January window. Amad was rumored yesterday by Alan Nixon to have another loan move this Championship with Middlesbrough having been the favorites to land Diallo.

This morning Samuel Luckhurst from Manchester Evening News reported that the Red Devils are planning on keeping the player and expect him to have an important role in the squad for the remainder of the season. Amad had a grueling injury in preseason against Arsenal that saw him miss gametime until he returned in late December against Nottingham Forest. The Ivorian came on as a substitute in the second half and showed some promise.

Amad will have to face some competition to get minutes on the right after Alejandro Garnacho has shown Erik Ten Hag he can contribute on the right wing and has had a couple good performances on the right flank against Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic. Antony is also still at the club and will more than likely get his share of the minutes. Amad’s time in the midfield and striker for Sunderland last year might have been for the better as he can show the coach his versatility, which is a trait Erik Ten Hag values a lot in a player.

Erik Ten Hags opinion on what Amad can bring to the team

Ten Hag had bright words to say about the young forward after his return last month. Ten Hag said “ Yeah, he is very ball secure. He can bring a key actions, final passes, score a goal. And so I think he has some weapons. That is always what you are looking for with offensive players.”
