The Argentine Lisandro Martínez would already have a return date at Manchester United after the new foot injury that kept him off the field since last September 20, when he lost to Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Everything indicates that he could reappear in January 2024.

"My recovery is going very well. I am feeling strong, doing all the right things. We have to be patient. I know I will be back soon, but it takes time and we need patience," explained Lisandro to the club's official website, who does not want to take risks about his second mishap in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot.

The defender, world champion, has been without official activity for four months after relapsing from the problem that kept him out of action for the final two months of last season. Due to this, Erik ten Hag had to juggle centre-backs, as Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof also suffered physical problems in the first half of the season. This forced the coach to use 10 different pairs at this point in the course.

"It's very hard when you have two injuries and you're out for a total of six or seven months. But I feel strong in the head. In my family I have learned very good values to never give up, so this has only made me stronger. It's hard, but there are no excuses," Lisandro concluded.

Lisandro Martínez's injury

Martínez's problem arose as a result of the fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot, an injury that he suffered in mid-April in the match against Sevilla in the quarterfinals of the Europa League, and which culminated in surgery.
