The young forward may have to do another loan in the Championship

Loan moves have been the theme of the January transfer window for Manchester United as multiple loan deals have gone through so far this window. And it does not look like the Red Devils are done as United are looking to secure a few more loans for some of their younger players. Youngsters like Hannibal Mejbri, Alvaro Fernandez, and Joe Hugill have gone out on loan this month and their academy teammates Facundo Pellistri, Dan Gore, and Amad Diallo might join them on the loan market soon enough.

Amad Diallo is the main one as he had a very successful loan spell at Sunderland last season and was nominated for Championship Young Player of the Season but ultimately lost out to Alex Scott of Bristol City. Amad had Sunderland fans dreaming of possible promotion as Amad was able to lead the club to the playoffs before ultimately losing to Luton Town in the semifinals. Amad scored 13 goals and 3 assists in just 27 starts in the Championship.

Amad returned to Manchester in the summer and joined United on their preseason tour, but unfortunately suffered an injury in the preseason game against Arsenal in late July. Amad just recently returned from injury in December when he made his return against Nottingham Forest. His future is still in the air on whether he goes on loan or not, but he has no shortage of suitors if he were to go on loan.

The favorite amongst the suitors is Middlesbrough who are coached by United legend Michael Carrick. The legendary United midfielder has had a successful stint at Boro so far having led them to the Championship playoffs and has them in the Carabao Cup semifinal against Chelsea. According to journalist Alan Nixon, Middlesbrough are in the lead as they are most willing to cover a huge portion of his wages, and Michael Carrick’s influence may play a part.
