Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag recently opened up about his time at the club, reminiscing about the positive moments while also acknowledging areas for improvement.

"We had many good moments at Manchester United, but as I always say: there is always room for improvement. Good is not good enough," ten Hag stated in a recent interview.

A Period of Transition

The Dutch manager arrived at Manchester United in the summer of 2022, tasked with the challenging job of restoring the club to its former glory after several years of underwhelming performances. In his first season, he guided the team to a Champions League qualification and secured the Carabao Cup, the club's first trophy in five years.

However, the second season proved to be more difficult. The team was eliminated in the Champions League group stage and failed to secure a spot in the competition for the following season. In the Premier League, their performance was inconsistent, and they finished in eighth place, outside the European qualification spots.

Fond Memories and Self-Criticism

Despite the ups and downs, ten Hag has consistently maintained a positive attitude and emphasized the support from the fans and the positive work environment at the club. "I really enjoyed my time at Manchester United. It's a special club, with incredible fans," he affirmed.

Regarding his self-assessment, ten Hag acknowledged that he made mistakes and that there is always room for improvement. "I am a manager who is always looking to learn and improve. I am sure that I have made mistakes, but I have also learned a lot," he said.

The Dutch manager did not specify the mistakes he made but expressed his willingness to analyze them and learn from them. "I believe it's important to be self-critical and recognize that you can always do better. I am sure that in the future I will be a better manager thanks to my experience at Manchester United," he concluded.

A Mixed Legacy

Despite not achieving all the desired objectives, the Dutch manager left his mark on the team and laid the groundwork for the future.
