This Manchester United player has given the green light to go to Spain

Manchester United have been quite active in this January transfer window but not for buying purposes. After an early exit from the Champions League and Carabao Cup, the Red Devils only remain in two competitions. Therefore, the squad needed to be trimmed as there is not enough available game time for everyone, therefore United have taken up the role of a selling club this window.

United have completed five loan deals already this January transfer window, with three of the deals including buy options at the end of the season. Jadon Sancho, Donny van De Beek, Joe Hugill, Alvaro Fernandez, and Hannibal Mejbri have all left the club. Donny, Alvaro, and Hannibal are the three with the buy options. United are set to make it six loans now after Facundo Pellistri is open to going to Spain on loan for the rest of the season.

Pellistri is no stranger to going on loan in Spain as he previously enjoyed two loan spells at Deportivo Alaves in the 20/21 and 21/22 campaigns. Those loans were quite lackluster which led to United keeping the player in the squad last season, but his minutes were limited despite having some good moments off the bench. In the past 2 seasons that the Uruguayan has been at the club he has only seen 13 Premier League appearances with one start.

With Copa America this summer, the Uruguayan wants to play major minutes to ensure his starting spot for Uruguay under coach Marcelo Bielsa. With Amad Diallo returning from injury, and Antony and Garnacho taking up minutes on the right wing, a loan remained the only option for the young forward. Fabrizio Romano stated that Pellistri has offers from PSV, LA Galaxy, and from Spanish clubs.

What Spanish club is Pellistri going on loan to?

The young Uruguayan forward has been linked to a few La Liga clubs during the season but it appears that the winners of the Pellistri sweepstakes is a club United have already done loan business with this season. Granada is the club in advanced negotiations with Manchester United for Facundo Pellistri.
