Loan moves have been quite popular in January across Europe, as it seems lots of clubs are struggling financially. The Premier League, which is known to be the strongest league in the world financially has not been able to flex their muscles as opposed to last year which saw the league spend over 800 million Euros in the winter. It seems temporarily that the league has fallen from its throne to join the other leagues.

One of the clubs that is struggling financially is Manchester United. Saying that a decade ago would have made the whole room laugh as the club used to be one of the richest on the planet and always had the money to spend. Now that the money is gone and if United wants to avoid punishments the likes of Everton got and Nottingham Forest is likely to get, the club needs to get creative and ruthless. Ruthless has been a word that has not been associated with United but with the new changes at the club, maybe they can get it back.

This winter has seen the departure of a few players at United. Jadon Sancho has gone to Dortmund, Van de Beek has gone to Frankfurt, Alvaro and Hannibal have gone to Benfica and Sevilla. And there have been more loans rumored that have not transpired yet. The loan moves for United are a way for the club to trim their wage bill and with buy options added to all those loans except Sancho’s. The club hopes that those options get triggered, and it raises some funds.

One player that has been rumored to have a loan move is Facundo Pellistri as the player looks to get more playing time before Copa America. With the return of Amad Diallo as well the player’s minutes would take a huge hit

Pellistri has been strongly linked with Granada and after a deal looked like it was done, the Daily Mail has reported that the deal has stalled due to wage split disagreements between the two clubs. Granada did not want to pay most of the players wages.
