The Red Devil has a tough challenge ahead of them as they return to the UEFA club competition on Thursday. Erik Ten Hag and his lads make the return trip to Spain after a few weeks away from their previous training camp as they have over to new Spotify Camp Nou to face a familiar foe.

The weekend win in the Premier League at Elland against Leeds United is long forgotten as they now switch full focus on their game against Xavi Hernandez's Barcelona on Thursday night in the first league of their double-legged Europa League fixture.

Both teams haven't faced off since 2019 when they met in the Champions League with Barcelona coming out on top of the doubled legged fixture that end 3-0 at Camp Nou and 0-1 at Old Trafford under former United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

While the club continues to push on the field of play, the takeover talks are entering a crucial stage ahead of the soft Friday deadline for serious buyers. The Red Devils haven't been short of interested buyers with a few already going head-to-head in their proposal packages.

Who is competing for United ownership?

According to the latest reports, Qatar has entered the race to acquire the football club and they try to challenge the interests of Sir Jim Ratcliffe for the ownership of the club. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly ready to offer 4 billion dollars plus incentives to acquire the club while Emir Al Thani of Qatar is expected to offer a higher bid for the club.
