Adrien Rabiot has been one of the most talked-about names in football over the past few years. The young Frenchman has been linked with some of the biggest clubs in the world. However, one potential move that didn't go through was his proposed switch to Manchester United the last summer. In a press conference before the Juventus Champions League match, Rabiot has now opened up a little bit about the matter.

Rabiot was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, but a deal failed to materialize. Rabiot also spoke about his current situation at Juventus. There were a few reasons behind the failed move, according to Rabiot. Firstly, he was not guaranteed first-team football at Old Trafford, since the Red Devils were at the moment planning to also get the Holland star Frenkie de Jon, and he felt that it was important to play regularly just before the World Cup. Secondly, his agent was not convinced by the wages proposed by United.

Rabiot's thoughts on the matter

Rabiot has revealed that he was close to joining Manchester United, but a deal failed to materialize. "There was a lot of talk, but I’ve always been focused both in training and in the game," he said at a press conference. "The renewal? (with Juventus) I don’t know. At the moment, there are other things to think about. I’m focused on the pitch and doing well for the team".
