After reaching an agreement with Juventus days ago and several days of negotiations with the player, Manchester United director John Murtough travelled to Turin yesterday in order to close reach an agreement on personal terms with Adrien Rabiot and his mother/agent in a scheduled personal meeting.
The main topic of the meeting was about the wages the French midfielder will receive during his time at Old Trafford, which has been the thing that is stopping the transfer to be official. The player currently earns around €8-9 million a year with Juve and he doesn’t want to earn less than that. He still has years left in his contract and wants his money.

Cristiano Ronaldo is available against Brentford and could start the match
Today, John Murtough was seen leaving Italy after the meeting with Rabiot’s camp with a smile on his face as he looked relaxed. Italian reporters Fabrizio Romano and Di Marzio have both agreed that it was a positive meeting. However, they still have not reached an agreement as they keep working on his salary.
The Italian reporters also added that talks will continue in the next couple of days. Rabiot will continue to train with his teammates at Juventus as they prepare for their Monday’s first game of the Serie A season against Sassuolo. In the meantime, Manchester United will play tomorrow when they visit Brentford in the second match of the season.
Even though all the media outlets say that the meeting was positive and went great, every single Manchester United supporter out there is very frustrated by how slowly this transfer is being handled. Erik ten Hag and his side lost their first match at Old Trafford against Brighton, and the midfield for tomorrow’s game will probably be McTominay and Fred once again.
