Manchester United have reported interest in several players over the last few weeks, yet the board have not been able to present an offer to open negotiations, which is why one of the club's most talked about targets could be moving further away from the club for good.

Benjamin Pavard has been in Ten Hag's sights in recent days, in addition to that the Frenchman has openly stated that he would like to come to Old Trafford, as the project that the coach has been managing since last season has caught his attention and he wants to be part of this new path to winning titles, so he has made clear to Bayern Munich his intention to seek a transfer.

However, there have been several situations around the defender that have been gradually moving away the possibility that he could join the red devils, starting with the price that the Bavarian club has set for the player, as the United board had offered a figure of 25 million euros approximately, but the German team rejected it as it was not close to the 40 million euros they are asking for in exchange, so that was the first problem.

The next problem was that the transfer of Harry Maguire could not be completed because they could not reach an agreement for his compensation, so West Ham withdrew the proposal they had made to look for new alternatives, leaving the Red Devils without enough room in the budget to make a counter offer for Pavard.

The last big problem

Bayern Munich had recently commented that they no longer intended to pursue negotiations to let Benjamin Pavard go, however, according to Corriere dello Sport, information has emerged that Inter Milan are in talks with the Bavarian club to sign the defender, so this would undoubtedly end any chance of Manchester United signing one of their biggest targets.
