Manchester United World Cup stars are gradually returning back to the club after their experiences at the Mundial with their national during the lengthy club season break. The World Cup was played for the first team in the Middle east.

There was absolute joy and celebration galore when Manchester United stars received their invitation to the World Cup a couple of weeks back, which has been a lifelong dream of many of them to showcase their talents on the world stage.

Manchester United Brazilian contingent of Casemiro, Fred, and Antony Santos were all called up to the Brazil squad for the tournament. This was Antony's first-ever World Cup experience with Brazil, unlike his other United teammate.

Antony made a big money move from Ajax to Manchester United late in the transfer window which raised a lot of eyebrows, as many believed he was overpriced due to United's desperation to sign him at the request of his former and now-current manager Erik Ten Hag.

WHAT HAPPENED WITH ANTONY AT THE WORLD CUP?

The Manchester United star played a part in his team's easy cruise through the group stage and their thumping of South Korea in the first round of the knockout stage. But their journey was ended by Croatia via penalties in the quarterfinals despite being favorites to win the competition. Antony was heartbroken and now returned to use that experience to help United with the rest of their current campaign.
