The summer can't come any faster for the Manchester United board and Erik Ten Hag to implement the next phase of their plan. But there's still a long way to go for the club before they can move into that phase as they navigate the second half of their campaign.

Manchester United brought in about seven players in the summer to boost Erik Ten Hag's managerial appointment. The Dutchman manager opted for a new adventure in England after his decorated years at Ajax which saw him become linked with top clubs across Europe.

It was a summer spending of over 200 million euros which exceeded the club's initial spending budget. Ten Hag pushed hard for the signing of Antony from Ajax, who cost a record fee in the summer. Lisandro Martinez was also signed by United from Ajax.

The most unexpected signing was that of Casemiro from Real Madrid, which caught United fans by surprise till hid unveiling. The Brazilian midfielder has been phenomenal in his debut season at the club. There's much more freedom for United attacks to play with as well as safety for the defense.

Is United facing FFP sanctions?

According to the latest reports, Manchester United are already working out a list of players that they play to sell in the summer in order to comply with the Financial Fair Play following new UEFA rules. Several fringe players like Scott McTominay, Elanga, and even Harry Maguire might be on the list.
