Cristiano Ronaldo was a huge fan of the Manchester derby and played in many of them till his exit from the club. His most recent Manchester derby was in Manchester United's bartering by City, 6-3 at the Etihad earlier this season which he watched on from the bench.
It was upsetting for him not to be in the starting lineup and more frustrating to watch his favorite club fall to a heavy defeat earlier days into the new club season. It was a game to forget for Erik Ten Hag by his lads as they hoped to be ready for the return fixture to Old Trafford which took place today.
Rashford steals the derby Crown as Manchester United moves up
Man United wanted him out, he fought back and now this has happened
Manchester City began the game with the ball in their control as they poked at United severally to get the first goal of the game. They failed to have any attempt at goal despite their massive game control and constantly faced the Red Devils' attacking phase.
City eventually took the early on in the second half via their impact sub, Jack Greenish who nodded him a Kevin Debruyne cross. Manchester United didn't give up and finally got their reward with goals from the captain of the day Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.
Over the course of the season, Rashford has gradually grown into become a match-winner for the Red Devils with many games in the bag already. His match-winning displays have put him on the same level of conversation as club legend Cristiano Ronaldo which he claimed today by scoring Manchester United's winner against City in today's derby game.
