The red devils have a concern that the main problem for the current keepers is their unexperience in the Premier League style, and they wanted to change that with the spanish player.

One of the main concerns to the main reason why Onana was making many mistakes in the first part of the season for the red devils is because the pressure of being the keeper of the red devils was a lot for him and on the other hand it seems that the other reason was because the keeper was not used to the way that the teams play in the Premier League.

And that is why the red devils wanted to bring David de Gea back, with a role of player that mostly manages his team mates, but the fact is that the spanish keeper wanted to keep his previous salary of 350,000 euros per week with the team even if he was not going to play in most of the games, and he rejected the actualy offer.

Now it has been confirmed by several sources that David de Gea is close to sign a contract with his new team, and that it is most likely going to be with Real Betis in the next part of the season, the La Liga team also shown interest on the keeper since the last transfer window, but now they could be close to reach a deal.

David de Gea has not been able to reach an agreement with almost any team due to the fact that the player is asking for a really high salary from any team, but it seems that the only reason why he could be close to accept the deal from Real Betis is the fact that he could be close to his family in his home country.

David de Gea salary

Most of the sources believe that David de Gea has drop his salary to 200,000 euros per week, and that could be the main reason why he would like to make the deal happen and have the chance to play in his home country.
