The long-serving Spain international goalkeeper was recently criticised by a former team-mate, the complaint came from the player who was his team-mate until last season. He argues that the Red Devils did not give him what he was promised.

The 25-year-old English goalkeeper told TalkSPORT that after Euro 2020 he was told he would be the starting goalkeeper, and that after he returned from his COVID-19 infection he was not given the job back, even expressing disappointment in his previous team.
In this same media he made his anger known, as the player rejected many offers to play with loan option, and considered a crime on the part of Man Utd for leaving him 12 months sitting, he assured that at his age it affected him by losing pace of play.
David de Gea was questioned about his former team-mate's comments, and said that he was concentrating on what his job is, and that it was better to concentrate on the team's current situation and not on what happened last season.
