David de Gea seems to be set to renew his contract for at least another season with Manchester United, but the fact is that the team is looking to sing some competition for the goalie position.

David de Gea has been the keeper for Manchester United since his arrival to the team in 2011, and since then he was had little to no competence for the starting position, and now that it seems that these might be his last few seasons as a red devil, ten Hag is eager to bring him someone that can actually compete for that position with him.

The recent mistakes that he has had in the season makes him a player that can not be completely trusted, especially in a league so competitive like the Premier League and with the team wanting to compete in the next Champions League where one mistake could cost you the whole competition.

His name is Bart Verbruggen, he currently has a yearly salary of 80,000 euros, which is less than what David de Gea earns in a single week with the team, he earns a total of 375,000 euros per week. Bart Verbruggen is currently playing in the Belgian league with RSC Anderlecht, and scouts for the red devils think he can be even better than de Gea.

Bart Verbruggen performance

He currently played a total of 17 games out of 34 possible to him, and in those games he let 21 goals go in but he also managed to keep a clean sheet in 8 of those games, so probably in a league with a higher level of defense he could really perform way better, and with his value of only 4 million euros and his salary it could be a really good bet for Manchester United.
