It is a season that signifies a new beginning for Dutch manager Erik ten Hag, who saw fit to spend £225 million to strengthen the club, the demands have been clear from the outset, the decision was made to hire the manager because of the process he had at Ajax, and the board wants to replicate that formula, now at Old Trafford.

He had a historic season in the Champions League, in that season he brought many of his players up to a great level, those players are at the best clubs in the world. They knocked out teams like Real Madrid, beating the team at the Santiago Bernabeu, and beat Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus.

He will miss more weeks for this player and Man Utd will have to look to replace him

They were a few seconds away from advancing to the final in that occasion, and that participation was enough for the coach to be quoted as one of the great coaches who have a particular style. The manager has had a patchy run of results, with 12 points from seven games in the Premier League, sixth in the domestic competition.

"It's a physical thing, a mental thing, but it's also consistency. It's like a routine, a way of life that you have to incorporate into every training session, the system, the team and every individual player," said Erik ten Hag, on the approach to the pressure in the Red Devils' dugout at the moment.

"You can't change it in days or weeks, this will take months of work"

Erik ten Hag reiterated that he is looking for commitment from the club to let him work as he feels the team will progress. The demands on the club are very high due to the last few years of mismanagement, heavy investment, failed signings and disappointing results.
