Manchester United was shaping up to be one of the most active teams in the transfer market this summer, however the club's sale situation has prevented Erik ten Hag from completing a single one of the signings he had in mind for the team, and worse, he has lost the race for several targets to other teams.

The refusal of Tottenham's board to sell Harry Kane, as well as his high initial price tag, made his arrival at Old Trafford this summer impossible. Similarly, Napoli central defender Kim Min Jae was almost certain to join Manchester United, but once again the move fell through because FC Bayern went ahead and managed to reach an agreement with the player.

However, everything seems to indicate that now the roles could change and Manchester United could be the team that thwarts a transfer to another team. The latest reports indicate that Erik ten Hag has the firm intention of entering into negotiations with West Ham to acquire Declan Rice this summer.

Declan Rice has attracted the interest of several teams, however, Arsenal seems to be the team most advanced in closing his signing, but it seems that Manchester United's offer could break down the negotiations between the Londoners and thus bring Rice closer to Old Trafford, who is one of the biggest targets of Erik ten Hag.

United's offer for Declan Rice

According to several media reports, Manchester United is willing to include players in its offer for Declan Rice and it has been reported that West Ham would be interested and open to negotiate any offer that includes Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay, two players that Erik ten Hag no longer wants in the team.
