Facundo Pellistri claims his place in red devils, uncertain future

From Peñarol to Europe, first ceded to Alavés and then returned to Manchester United, Facundo Pellistri had very well performances in the preseason’s matches in red devils’ offensive, specially in the last game against Athletic Bilbao whit one goal scored at the end to save his teammates from defeat last Sunday at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.

Pellistri’s illusion is to earn more minutes than he played last season, very few minutes for a midfielder who wants to grow up in the English Premier League and to be selected by Marcelo Bielsa to Uruguay national team for the followings World Cup’s qualifiers that will begin next September with two matches.

Starter in two matches for Uruguay in the FIFA World Cup 2022, this moment was the most positive for Pellistri last season. With red devils, he only played four games in the last Premier League and other match in the Europa League against Real Betis (victory 1-0 for the English club). Besides, there are a lot of world-class teammates who fight for a place in his position like Sancho, Antony, Mount, Garnacho, Martial, Rashford and Forson.

The uncertain future for Pellistri, the second option he has

Despite the great preseason Pellistri could complete and demonstrate his elevated level to Erik Ten Hag, the names who compete with the Uruguayan are so too much. For that reason, on the horizon Twente appears like as a loan option while the executives work to renew his contract for more time. Where will Pellistri play next season?
