David de Gea becomes a free agent on July 1, 2023 and everything seems to indicate that he will not continue to be Manchester United's goalkeeper, as Erik ten Hag would already have in mind the one who will be the new starting goalkeeper of the team and before this, the Spaniard would have preferred to try his luck away from Old Trafford next season.

It is no secret that the relationship between ten Hag and de Gea deteriorated in recent months and it seems that it ended up breaking after the FA Cup final against Manchester City, a match after which the Dutch tactician declared that the two goals conceded by David de Gea were "avoidable", and a few days later it came to light that Erik ten Hag would have put as a priority the arrival of a new goalkeeper regardless of the decision of the 32-year-old Spanish goalkeeper.

Given this and with several offers to emigrate away from Old Trafford, David de Gea has already decided not to continue at Manchester United after twelve years defending the Red Devils jersey, time during which he won the hearts of the fans by becoming one of the best goalkeepers in the world and although he made big mistakes, there is no doubt that he is one of the most talented goalkeepers who has played for our club.

However, his cycle seems to be nearing its end and we may have seen David de Gea's last game in a Manchester United uniform. Erik ten Hag has already chosen his replacement and it is André Onana, who played in the Champions League final against Manchester City and would be ready to arrive at Old Trafford this summer.

Manchester United on the verge of signing Onana

According to several reports, Inter Milan would be willing to let André Onana leave and are now waiting for Manchester United to make a formal offer for the 27-year-old Cameroonian goalkeeper, who is currently valued at 35 million euros, a sum that could be affordable for the Red Devils.
