Just a few hours ago Manchester United released the list of 25 players who were called up for the first round of the UEFA Champions League which starts on 19 September, but Ten Hag's side will have the opportunity to begin their title bid on Wednesday 20 September when they take on Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

One of the players who surprised by not being called up was Donny Van de Beek, as the Dutch midfielder has seen his future with the club in the balance since the beginning of the summer when he was informed that he would be put on the transfer list with the intention of seeking a mutually beneficial deal, therefore, from that moment onwards, his future began to be discussed.

As we already know, the Premier League transfer window closed last Friday, which means that no English team can add new players to reinforce their squads, however, they can still receive offers for those players who are transferable as some European leagues close their transfer market until September 17, while in Saudi Arabia until September 8.

For that reason, Ten Hag is still hoping to be able to transfer Van de Beek and everything points to that being the case as not only has he not been called up for the Champions League, but he has also not been given minutes in the Premier League and now with the new reinforcements, it looks complicated for him to get a chance.

Van de Beek's destinations

The Dutch midfielder joined Manchester United three seasons ago from Ajax for 39 million euros, however, because he has not been able to demonstrate his true value within the team, Erik Ten Hag has taken the decision to sell him before the transfer window closes in other European leagues, so it is said that Galtasaray and Royal Antwerp of Belgium are the most interested in acquiring the services of the player.
