Cristiano Ronaldo has been on everyone's lips over the last two weeks for several reasons which started with his shocking and all-revealing media interview that caused a storm in the football world and its effects are still being felt.

His media interview which aired in two parts cleared a lot of issues and speculations around his future but most importantly about his issues with the club, which saw him take a dig at the club owners, the club manager, and as well as his now-former manager, Erik Ten Hag.

He was ultimately let go by the club and has currently put all his club affairs on hold until after the World Cup campaign is completed with his national team. The Portuguese star is joined by his now-former teammates Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot in the World Cup team for Portugal.

Ronaldo opened Portugal's campaign at the World Cup with a goal but hasn't scored any afterward. Portugal won their opening game 3-2 against Ghana with Bruno providing a brace assist. They followed it up with a 2-0 win over Uruguay in game two courtesy of  Bruno's brace.

WHAT HAPPENED AFTER GAME TWO?

The game two wins secure their qualification to the knockout stage of the competition. They had hoped to take all nine points but failed to take their chances in game three as South Korea came from behind t beat them 2-1 to secure their place in the knockout stage. Ronaldo looked unhappy that they didn't take all three points but was very glad that regardless they were already through to the next round.
