Manchester United are still looking to sign a keeper to reinforce the team, and now he could be closer to arrive to the team.

It has been reported several times that it does not matter what David de Gea and the team decide about the future of the spanish goalkeeper, Manchester United are going to still be looking for a player that can take the starting position right away, and now it seems that he could be closer to signing a deal than expected.

Diogo Costa is at the top of the targets to reinforce the goal position, the team believes that the 23 year old keeper from Portugal has shown more that enough this last season with Porto and he could actually be the answer to the keeper problem, and now the team is actually ready to send in their first offer to the player.

Sources close to Manchester United have confirmed that the team are finalizing a proposal to sign Diogo Costa, they know that Porto has the need to make some money before the 30th of June and that Costa is currently the squad most valuable asset, and they would actually be ready to accept the offer if it is good enough.

Diogo Costa numbers

It has also been reported several times that one of the main reasons why Manchester United are looking to sign Costa as their new keeper is due to the fact that he posted some really great numbers this season with Porto, in the portuguese league he played a total of 33 games out of 34 possible games, and in those games he was able to allow only 22 goals in the whole season, but on top of that he managed to keep 16 clean sheets as well, almost half of the games.
