Manchester United declined the decision to sign the likes of Erling Haaland, Dusan Vlahovic, and Christopher Nkunku, despite being highly rated by the former United manager during his stay at Old Trafford. The board’s decision to not approve the pursuit of these players has seen them face heavy criticism, especially with Haaland’s monstrous form in the Premier League this season.

In a recent report, former Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick revealed that he had a list of high-profile players that he believed could transform United into the team he wanted but the board dismissed it. Subsequently, Erling Haaland got the move he wanted and played his part in Manchester City’s battering of United earlier this month while grabbing a hattrick in the game.

THEY DIDN’T WANT HIM AT THEIR CLUB INTIALLY BUT NOW THEY LOVE HIM

Manchester United rules the National team ahead of Manchester City and Liverpool

Ralf Ragnick’s time at United was plagued with so many issues, most especially his attacking setup as United found it difficult to convert chances and score goals. He ended the season with United’s lowest points tally in Premier League History when he took over for Ole Gunner Solskjaer. The abysmal performance of united under his tenure left many wondering if he was the right manager.

Both Haaland and Vlahovic have moved on to top teams in Europe respectively, while Christopher Nkunku is still at RB Leipzig at the moment and has been instrumental for the German side over the past two seasons. A heavy price tag is certainly expected in order to pry the French international to Old Trafford if they have reconsidered their stance.

WHO IS HAVING THE LAST LAUGH?

It is most definitely United’s local rival, Manchester City with the signing of the season so far in Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker has a ridiculous 17 goals so far in the Premier League from 11 appearances. He was fully involved in his first Manchester derby which earned him the man of the match in that game. United will at the very least consider a move for Nkunku later in the summer.
