Manchester United made a tough decision last month to dismiss one of their star players who made the headlines for calling out the club's hierarchy as well as disrespecting their new manager despite the clarity of his remarks.

This came up after Ronaldo's media interview was aired where he spoke about his then-current situation at the club as well as how the club let the media run free with false narratives about why he was unavailable during the preseason due to a family emergency.

The Portuguese captain was berated by several media pundits with several contrasting narratives about him after the media interview. Eventually while still on his World Cup campaign with Portugal, Ronaldo and United decided to part ways, and then the new media avalanche began again.

WHO IS DEFENDING RONALDO FROM THE MEDIA RUMORS?

Shortly after leaving United, Ronaldo began to be linked with several false rumors which have now clouded the Portuguese team's effort in Qatar.  His former teammate and close friend from his time at Real Madrid, Mesut Ozil has lashed out on social media bout the constant false information that is being generated about Ronaldo. The former Arsenal demanded that people show more respect to the greatest athletes of all time.
