Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo has been the leading conversation across world football over the last few days as his media interview caused a total meltdown. United fans and the board were taken aback by the unexpected interview and more importantly its contents as a whole.

Ronaldo was close to a move to Manchester City, which he confirmed but a discussion with Sir Alex Ferguson helped in dissuading him from the City move. But rather he should return to the theatre of dreams once more and allow himself to be immortalized in the hearts of the fans.

He remarked that they have a personal connection outside football through their families and hope for an opportunity for them to share conversations and more.

ARE WE GETTING TO THE END OF THE ERA?

All indications point to the fact that we are surely getting closer to the end of an era of football that has been dominated by both players over the last two decades. The on-field rivalry between both players saw them represent the biggest clubs in their respective illustrious histories and no one could contend with them. Although both players are now in their late thirties, the world surely doesn't seem ready to let them hang those boots.
