Although the Premier League is about to be put on hold just like other leagues across Europe and the world ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, United fans are delighted that some of their players will be representing their national teams at the World Cup. The national team that will be represented by United's players include; Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, as well as England.

With the World Cup just a few weeks away, countries and players have started preparing for it, with some countries already releasing their call-up list for the tournament. England coach, Gareth Southgate is yet to name his list but regardless of when he does there is a certain guarantee that one United player gets an automatic slot in the team ahead of others.

After reaching this goal like Ronaldo, he want to do this next

He is happy with the run and here is why

United's backline might have conceded 16 goals from 12 Premier League matches, but they are a lot better than that with 5 clean sheets so far and an integral part of that success is Luke Shaw. The English left-back has been Erik Ten Hag's go-to option on that side of his defense and he has impressed so far. A spot in the national team call-up is now guaranteed for him following the injury to his rival Ben Chilwell of Chelsea.

The Chelsea left fullback picked up an injury against Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League and has been ruled out of the World Cup effectively. This leaves Luke Shaw as the most likely first-choice left-back to be picked by Southgate when the team assembles in Qatar. Shaw's most recent international tournament was at the Euros 2020, in which England lost the final on home soil.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR SHAW AND TEN HAG?

For Luke Shaw, this is surely the clearest sign that he will be selected as part of England's World Cup team and will aim to help his national teammate get the glory. As for Ten Hag, this adds to his growing concerns as Shaw will be exposed to more games this season and will have to be careful in using the fullback in the first few weeks after he comes back from the World Cup.
