The signing of Lautaro Martinez seems to be the way to go for Manchester United, a really solid striker with experience in Champions League and that can manage to stay healthy for a long season, everything that ten Hag is looking for.

Inter Milan knows all of this and even though they are willing to negotiate for the argentinian striker, the price tag for him is somewhere around the 80 million euros, an amount that Manchester United would like to drop down by adding a player to the deal.

The player would be Anthony Martial, a player that has had his chances with the team and he is simple unable to perform to the level that the red devils need, the french player is worth 25 or 30 million, and adding him to the deal will make the value of Lautaro to go down to 50 million.

That is a number that Manchester United are ready to work with, first of all you get rid of a player that it is going to be pretty hard for him to perform according to the project that ten Hag has in mind, a team that could win the Premier League and the Champions League.

The problem with that swap is that Anthony Martial is earning 13 million euros per year, amount that doubles the current salary that Lautaro has at Inter Milan, so in order for this deal to go trough the player is going to need to take a salary downgrade, but he might be looking to play more at Milan.
