There was nothing more nerve-wracking for Erik Ten Hag and millions of Manchester United fans across the World this season than when they were watching the Chelsea game and the incident that occurred during it which dealt a huge blow to the season plans.
At least that's what they thought, as Raphael Varane screamed in pain while on the field of play in a very crucial encounter for the Red Devils earlier this season. The medical team rushed on to attend to him while Ten Hag pondered the erupting questions in his mind.

Fortunately for the club, Ten Hag, the fans, and Varane himself, the injury was not a season-ender for him but he was a huge certainly going to miss a month worth of action and was at risk of missing the World Cup with France, which he had been dreaming about for so long.
The Frenchman dedicatedly worked his way to recovery, while United gambled it out without him in defense and made it in time to make France's World Cup squad for Qatar as they seek to retain the title they won four years ago in Russia.
The Manchester United center-back gradually worked his way to fitness at the World Cup and took back his rightful place in Didier Deschamps's starting lineup and helped through to the semifinal game against Morocco. Varane's team comfortably edge out their opponent yesterday with a 2-0 win to book their place in the final against Argentina. The center-back celebrated wholeheartedly at the accomplishment and is hoping to win back-to-back World Cup titles with his national team.
