Manchester United had a very agitated summer transfer window, full of surprises, expensive signings like the Brazilians Casemiro and Antony, important departures from the club like the French midfielder, Paul Pogba.
In a scenario where Manchester United are building a project, you need specific players with character to lead the idea of the game you want to implement. The fact is that a player that people did not expect, not even the coach himself, has raised his hand to lead this project.

The 30-year-old Danish international player, Christian Eriksen, was an addition who, from the moment he arrived in the summer, quickly adapted to the idea that the coach was looking for in midfield. Since then, the free agent has become an integral part of the tactical gameplan of the starting eleven.
Christian Eriksen in 2021 suffered a heart attack in the Denmark national team's game against Finland, the player collapsed to the ground and came close to losing his life. His retirement from the game was the most widely rumoured option, but he did not continue at Inter Milan. He made a surprise move to Brentford in January and picked up a bit of pace at the start of the year, but no one expected him to become a player who is returning to elite football.
The player has been a key player under the orders of Erik ten Hag, adding that in top level of play, he has infected his teammates to be better, such is the case of the Scotsman, Scott McTominay, who today shares midfield with the Dane, and he has improved a lot, to the extent that the fans are happy with this midfield duo.
