Ruud Gillet claims that Wout Weghorst is not good enough for Manchester United.

Overall, I think Wout Weghorst has had a positive impact at Manchester United, but I can fully understand why people don't think he's cutting the mustard in a red shirt. The Dutch international has scored twice and registered two assists in 18 games since he joined Manchester United on loan from Burnley. However, Weghorst is yet to score a Premier League goal under Erik ten Hag.

Weghorst's work rate and link play are second to none, and it's easy to see why the striker is popular with his teammates, but in front of goal he isn't prolific enough. That is the reason why Ten Hag will prioritize an elite goalscorer in the summer.

Newly appointed Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman has included the United striker in the national team for this month's international break. Weghorst played 90 minutes against Gibraltar last night but failed to score the back of the net. Furthermore, Weghorst's performances did not impress Ruud Gullet, who criticized his compatriot last night.

I always look at him in a strange way. I have a lot of admiration for him, but at the same time he thinks he's not good enough for Manchester United and Orange. From time to time you see flaws, Gillet told the Dutch press.

Ten Hag's considerations with Wout

Although it is clear that we need a better goalscorer next season, I would not be against the idea of keeping Weghorst as an option in the team. There's no denying that he's been to Ten Hag's advantage ever since he came along, especially with Anthony Martial always out of the question.
