Hours before the match against Nottingham, Ten Hag's words towards Antony

Manchester United are only hours away from their third game of the season, with hopes of improving a squad that has shown more doubts than certainties at the start of the campaign, and with several injured players set to miss the Nottingham Forest game, getting a win would be a huge boost to their morale. 

Erik Ten Hag will have to make several adjustments to the team with the late injuries to Luke Shaw and Mason Mount, for that reason he will need the support of all players, especially those who are expected to do more and have not been able to show their full potential, as is the case of Antony, as the Brazilian is in his second season and all fans are expecting him to be much better than the previous one. 

The striker arrived from Ajax for 95 million euros, one of the most expensive signings in the history of the Red Devils, but was exclusively requested by order of the coach, as both had shared time together in the Dutch team, so Ten Hag knew the way of playing of the Brazilian who had captivated everyone with his great skill and ability. 

However, his first season was full of irregularities, which made it seem that he was not adjusting to the level of play in English football, so, throughout the summer, the coach had several talks with the player with the intention of motivating him so that this year he could show his full potential and become a key player in the path to the title.

Ten Hag spoke about Antony again

Now again the Dutch coach spoke on the subject of Antony, because as we have seen, he has improved a lot in these two games so far in the campaign, even so, Ten Hag again tried to motivate him saying: "Antony has to take a step forward because for us to be good is not enough. Don't get distracted, concentrate on the football and on your performance. This is in order for him to perform even better in this time when several first-choice players will be out through injury.
