The Red Devils are still basking in the great win they achieved yesterday at Old Trafford. Manchester United beat their noisy neighbors 2-1 to secure all three points but not everyone at United was that excited about the win, especially Lisandro Martinez.

Martinez made the summer move from Ajax to Manchester United, rejecting the offer from Arsenal to reunite with his former manager Erik Ten Hag at Old Trafford. The pair helped Ajax to the Eredivisie championship last season before setting off for a new adventure.

His arrival at Manchester United was met with questions about his physique and if he's fit to adapt to the Premier League pace. Lisandro Martinez quickly shut doubters up with his bullish defensive work rate and passionate display that has warmed the hearts of United fans.

His fantastic form with Manchester United saw him join the Argentina World Cup team in Qatar and went on to become World Champions after beating France in the finals via a penalty shootout. It was Martinez first ever World Cup campaign.

What happened to him after the World Cup?

Manchester United gave Lisandro Martinez a grand welcome with cheers and a standing ovation from their fans. But since his return, Martinez realized that he has fallen down the pecking order as Ten Hag decided to against giving him playing opportunities. The Argentine has only started once in United's last four games with Luke Shaw taking up his place in the team.
