When Erik Ten Hag took over at Manchester United in the summer, one of the major questions raised was how he was going to bring the best out of the United squad as many admitted that they were underperforming despite their rich talent.
Ten Hag pointed out how he would love for everyone to put in the work he expects of them and they would be able to challenge for a spot in his team. So that has seem a bit plausible given the fact that some players are getting more playing opportunities this season than they ever did before.
United plans to drag out contract renewals as long as possible
Ronaldo is enticed by the new offer and could Europe interest
But five months into his tenure at United, certain realities have now become clear at the club about his team selection with the club captain Harry Maguire being forced to watch his side from the sideline rather than have him involved in the actions.
Harry Maguire has barely played a part in United's current season despite instances where Ten Hag could have given him playing opportunities but opted for other defensive options which have the Englishman considering his options for the future.
Currently, Harry Maguire is playing a huge part in England's bid to win the World Cup in Qatar and has started all three games for the Three Lions with performances worthy of the MOTM awards. His tremendous form has raised more questions to mark about Ten Hag's adamant refusal to use the club captain.
