Ten Hag within weeks of arrival was able to identify the players that would make up key components of the kind of team he is trying to build at the club presently and in the future. His actions saw him spilt open the regular selection to create his team.
Lisandro Martinez, who was his former player at Ajax was bought and brought straight into the starting lineup at United, usurping the club captain Harry Maguire from the left side of the center backline for the Red Devils and he has delivered tremendously.
Ten Hag has for the most part refused to give the Englishman any playing opportunity even though there was an injury to Raphael Varane on the right side of the defense. Maguire has been one of England's top performers at the ongoing World Cup which has led to fans questioning Ten Hag's choices not to give a player of his quality ample chances in his team.
