Varane’s heartbreaking reaction when he saw Argentina lifting the World Cup

Manchester United fans are sad to see one of their play hurt following the end result of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The Red Devils had a large number of the first-team squad participate in the Mundial in Qatar.

Last month, 14 United stars jetted off to the Middle East to join their national team at the World Cup to compete for the ultimate trophy in world football. It was a tournament filled with spectacular performances and interesting results.

Manchester United's new center-back pairing of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez was also called up for their impressive club performance under their new manager Erik Ten Hag, who joined in the summer from Ajax along with Martinez.

Varane was in top form for United till he picked up an injury weeks before the World Cup and was worried that he would miss the Mundial that he so much dreamt of playing again. But fortunately, he returned to fitness in time for the tournament.

Raphael Varane started the final for France against Argentina and played  well enough despite the goal-scoring feast in the game that ended 3-3. Sadly, France could not retain the title they won in 2018 as Argentina edged out 4-2 on penalties to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup for themselves and their captain Lionel Messi.
