The away section at the Emirates was in a vibrant mood as their team looked to do a double over Arsenal for the first time in over two years. Their players secured all three points against Arsenal at Old Trafford in September with a 3-1 win.

Ten Hag had promised wholeheartedly that the players were going to secure all three points in the game during the build of the game. It was a belief that was broadly shared amongst the United players as well as they felt they had the right momentum.

Marcus Rashford was the initial difference maker as fired United ahead in the 17th minute of the game as they hope to get a win. The home team equalizer with a close-range header from Eddie Nketiah of a Granit Xhaka cross.

The second half continued in their style with Arsenal taking the lead with Bukayo Saka's wonder strike that stretched David De Gea but still found its way into the back of the net. Lisandro Martinez equalizer for the Red Devils from a looping header. It looked like it was going to end in a draw but Arsenal won with another Nketiah flick.

What caused United's fall?

The game was lost in the second half as United was subjected to relentless pressing from Arsenal which highlights how terribly Manchester United was missing Casemiro. The Brazilian midfielder picked up yet another yellow card in the Palace game which result in his suspension for this Arsenal game. Erik Ten Hag and his men will be looking to pick up themselves in their next game against Nottingham Forest.
