While Manchester United are working really hard to sign some new players in the next couple of weeks before the transfer market comes to an end, they are also trying to sell some of their current footballers who don’t really count for their manager Erik ten Hag, who he believes the squad is too big at the moment.
One of the players the Dutch manager has been keener to sell is Eric Bailly, since he has a lot of clubs interested in him. According to the reporter Jonathan Shrager, all of these clubs approached United this summer asking for the defender: AS Roma, AC Milan, AS Monaco, Valencia, West Ham, and Olympique Marseille, among others.

Unfortunately, they all wanted to sign him in a season-long loan deal and the Red Devils were only willing to let him go on a permanent deal. Nevertheless, it looks like the club finally got what they wanted. Fabrizio Romano reported on Twitter that Marseille and United reached an agreement yesterday for the Ivorian.
Bailly’s agent is currently discussing with the French club the personal terms in the final details of the contract. The deal will be a loan with an almost compulsatory option to buy the 28-year-old footballer. The contract includes a purchase obligation that depends on the number of matches and if they end up qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
It is being reported from France that Olympique Marseille representatives are hoping to make significant progress on the deal by the end of the weekend. Marseille finished second last season in Ligue 1 just behind Paris Saint-Germain and will play Champions League football this campaign, so Bailly would like the move to happen.
