As Manchester United looks to pick up crucial points in the last game before the season break, everyone has a clear path of what is next expected of them except one player. The day has become cloudier than ever as no one knows what is going on with this player's situation.

Erik Ten Hag has so far backed De Gea to get a new contract following his impressive performance for the Red Devils so far. Despite that his contract situation, De Gea has helped United climb up to the fifth position on the table, just three points behind four positions.

De Gea who made his United debut in 2011 has gone on to earn over 500 appearances for the club and has been the undisputed number one goalie at the club despite competition from Dean Henderson who is out on loan at Nottingham Forrest in recent seasons.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR UNITED?

For United fans, it is a worrying situation as they would like for United to retain their goalie but the ongoing contract saga is making matters worse. De Gea had earlier declared his desire to also take a pay cut to remain at the club and help them back to their glorious days.
