Marcus Rashford took up the mantle to become United's franchise player as they began their rebuild under Erik Ten Hag. He score nine of his last 10 matches for United against Arsenal, Manchester City, Everton, and several other clubs across competitions.

At the weekend, Rashford hit the 20 goals mark for Manchester United this season as they beat Leeds United 2-0 on their away trip. He scored a header as he guided the ball into the back of the net from an open play cross into the 18-yard box.

Rashford hit his second goal of the day for United in the game to make it three-nil after Garnacho scored the second but it was ruled out for offside by VAR. He ended the game without adding to his tally but received a standing ovation from the Red Devils' away fans as he was subbed off.

The England striker's one goal on the afternoon saw him fall short of Ronaldo's challenge after the Portuguese scored four goals for his new team Al Nassr in their latest league win at the weekend. Rashford failed to eclipse Ronaldo's weekend performance despite getting on the scoresheet for Manchester United.

What's next for Manchester United?

After getting back to winning ways, Manchester United moved above Man City briefly on the League table at the weekend but are now two points behind their local rivals. The Red Devils have turned their attention to the Europa League when they face Xavi's Barcelona at Camp Nou. The last time they met was in the Champions League where Barca beat United three-nil.
