Though a new manager is at the helm of affairs, the situation remains the same for this player.

When Manchester United signed Erik Ten Hag in the summer as their new manager, there was widespread excitement and anticipation of what to expect from a manager known for allowing young talents to showcase their brilliance. A fact that is heavily backed by his medal-laden managerial career at Ajax which produced the likes of Frenkie De Jong, Mattias De Ligt, and many more.

A huge prodigy of Ten Hag football was then sort after and signed by Manchester United in 2019 after an impressive role in helping Ajax to an impressive 2020 season across all competition. Donny van de Beek was highly sought after big several big European clubs including Real Madrid but he ultimately decided to move to Old Trafford.

A move that has seen him fall drastically in the pecking order so far in his two years at the club with his eventual loaning to Everton last season to help keep Frank Lampard's side afloat following their form. Dubbed by many in the Netherlands as the next big thing, the dutchman was gone on to fair unexpected injuries, bench-warming, and more, which has frustrated his development.

The signing of Ten Hag seemed like a breath of fresh air for Van de Beek, as he was already familiar with the demands of a Ten Hag side, and was presumed to slot in right away. But that has sadly not happened for the 25-year-old, as he so far has been subjected to the bench once again with only four appearances for him this season.

WILL VAN DE BEEK FIND HIS WAY BACK TO THE TOP?

The Dutchman will certainly be worried about his lack of appearance so far this season despite being coached by a familiar face and is expected to consider his options of either fighting for a spot in their team or moving on to somewhere else and rebuilding. The talent is undeniable but the opportunities to display them haven't been forthcoming at United for Donny van de Beek.
