The fourth alternative plays in a Premier League's club, but isn't belong to the Big Six

The departure of Harry Maguire to West Ham this week brought solutions for Erik Ten Hag’s squad and for the coach himself. The last discussion between them, which resulted in the removal of the Maguire’s leadership inside the field and with the Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes as the new captain the last part of the last season.

However, this negative episode was left behind for the Dutch coach and for the mentioned player himself. With separated ways, Maguire will play in West Ham the upcoming season and Ten Hag must think in the opening match on Monday against Wolverhampton Wonderers FC at Old Trafford.

Names like the French defender Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich, the French defensive player Jean-Clair Todibo from Niza, and the Burkinabe defender Edmond Tapsoba from Bayer 04 Leverkusen were very well probable options to reinforce United’s squad this summer. But a fourth option appeared on the horizon.

The new alternative to replace Maguire is the Ivorian football player Marc Guéhi from Crystal Palace, who was bought in 2021 from Chelsea by 23 million pounds. 23 years old, the African athlete has current contract with his team until June 2026 with not too many intentions to leave now because of his comfort situation.

How many opportunities has Guéhi to arrive to red devils?

Crystal Palace won’t avoid that Guéhi lands to Manchester United. Besides, Tottenham Hotspur is interesting in his services too. With 35 matches and one goal last season in the Patrick Vieira’s squad, his age could be an attractive reason to hide him now or next window transfer. It would give Ten Hag enough time to transform him in the fantastic defender he pretends to achieve. According to Vieira, this young player has “all the attributes” to get better football player in a short-term period. Will play in red devils now or later?
