After crashing out of the Europa League against Sevilla earlier in the week, Ten Hag urged his players to respond in his pre-Brighton press conference, but he's been forced to pick a makeshift backline for the game due to injuries and a suspension.

Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane are currently sidelined with injuries and Harry Maguire is suspended for the semi-final clash, which means Victor Lindelof and Shaw are set to start in central defense at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.

Dalot is lining up at left-back in the back four’s warm-up, so there is no shock positional change in defence; they are all where you would expect them to be. Just going off the number of supporters already at their seats, it looks like this will be a higher attendance than yesterday’s semi-final. United have one of the best travelling supporters on the planet and Brighton have their best chance of getting to a Wembley cup final since 1983.

The Brighton end is a sea of colour at the moment, with fans waving the plastic flags that have been left on every seat. I’m not normally a fan of plastic flags, but it does actually look quite good at Wembley. There’s no plastic flags in the United end, but plenty of banners, including one behind the goal reading FULL SALE ONLY. There were audible anti-Glazer protests here during the Carabao Cup final and it’s going to be the same again today.

Martial wearing gloves

Anthony Martial is wearing gloves, which many inside this stadium will take a dim view of. It is not cold. It’s 13 degrees. Given how cumbersome he looked when injured or injured, he’s done well to be fit for today. He needs to show up.
