The most recent news are that PSG wants to put a sanction to Lionel Messi for missing practices on Monday for a mysterious trip to the Arab Emirates, that could mean a lot of things but one thing is for sure, PSG is willing to get rid of Messi.

Right now Messi has a contract that finishes in June of 2023, and with the most recent news it is almost certain that PSG is not going to extend that contract, so there is an open road for one of the best soccer players in the history of the sport, and Manchester United does not seem to be crazy.

Of course the logic thing would be that Messi wants to play for Barcelona once again, but there is a huge problem there, Barcelona financial situation is very delicate and they are not going to be able to present a salary good enough to attract him.

On the other hand, Manchester United could get the boost from a new owner not only to present a very good offer to make Messi the highest paid player in the Premier League, but they can also make sure that Neymar signs with the club so they can get the whole package and convince both players that are known to have a good relationship on and off the pitch.

The real possibilities

It is not going to be easy to get a player like Messi, especially when every other team is going to present an offer, but as the things are right now and how are they looking in the future, Manchester United could present themselves as a club with a very high chance of signing him, and now that PSG is going to let him go, this idea could become a reality.
